Nowadays we're bombarded by news articles decrying the state of the environment, dying polar bears, CO2 emissions, shrinking ice caps and deforestation.  clean and sanitized  know, deep down inside, that the environment is in serious trouble. We recognize that recycling is important; we realise that saving power is essential; we realize that researching alternative power sources is critical to your continued success and survival on this planet.

But do we realize or understand what waste management is or why it is critical to us? Are we actually aware of what the process involves and the impact that it is wearing not merely our day-to-day lives, but additionally the futures of our children?

So, what's waste management?

At some point in our lives we've all driven past a landfill. They're pretty grim sights that involve mountains of filth, huge amounts of waste, wind strewn plastic bags and, sometimes, feral dogs and contaminated seagulls.

I understand you didn't put all of that trash in the bin and make the mess by yourself. We all did. We did it by not making the effort to sort our trash make it possible for a waste management company to handle it effectively!

Simply sorting your garbage into easily recyclable materials which can be collected and delivered to various processing plants makes a massive difference to the amount of trash that truly lands through to a landfill.

What can I really do?
It's simple, really. Invest the the time to separate your paper, glass, aluminium cans, organic waste and plastic rubbish into separate containers managing your waste becomes a straightforward affair.

In most places taking the first step and placing your refuse right into a separate container allows relevant waste companies to collect process and recycle your waste and recycle it.

In case a dedicated waste company isn't open to process the waste you separate you can be confident that collection points can be found at your nearest school or shopping centre. If you consider the quantity of effort it takes to get a positive affect on the surroundings and future generations it's selfish to accomplish anything else.
